I read this book with my nanny family and we all really loved it and found it so funny！ If you want a book that teaches morals in a funny and entertaining way then this is a must！ I defiantly will be taking this into school！ Having read this book with a Yr1 and Yr5 this book is very versatile for the different age groups。 Our favourite story being about the pig and the ball led to a great discussion about the pig and elephant characters and not taking things too seriously which was such a great I read this book with my nanny family and we all really loved it and found it so funny！ If you want a book that teaches morals in a funny and entertaining way then this is a must！ I defiantly will be taking this into school！ Having read this book with a Yr1 and Yr5 this book is very versatile for the different age groups。 Our favourite story being about the pig and the ball led to a great discussion about the pig and elephant characters and not taking things too seriously which was such a great message。We can’t wait to read the next volume 。。。more

A family and student favorite。 There are some sweet themes of inclusion and determination mixed in with Gerald and Piggie’s nonsense。 The friends figure out how to play with a differently abled friend so no one gets left out。 Piggie asks for help instead of giving up。 My favorite story， “I Really Like Slop，” sees Gerald respectfully acknowledge Piggie’s culture。 My 9 year old chose this for a reread several years after it was a reading challenge， just to visit these silly friends again。

I love love love these books and having the collection lets my little guy feel like he’s reading a chapter book like his big brother。 I love that Elephant （Gerald） and Piggie each have colored speech bubbles so that my boys can take turns reading the characters and practicing their reading aloud。 It is perfect for learning inflection too。 Definitely a favorite。

We cannot get enough of Gerald and Piggie in our household。 When Amazon had this collection （all 3 volumes） on sale， I bought all of them。 There are 5 or 6 stories in each “Biggie” and we easily fly through one full biggie book in one sitting。 I love how simple and surprising these stories are。 They are also great for emerging readers because of the large letters， and limited words on each page。
